Applications open on February 1, 2024, for the 2024- 2025 school year. Complete applications must be submitted no later than March 5, 2024 at 3pm.
Vistas Early College High School is a partnership between Klein ISD and Lone Star - University Park to offer at-risk students an opportunity to complete a high school diploma and earn up to 60 college hours towards an associates degree at no cost to the student or their family.
Vistas ECHS provides a “seamless” pathway from high school to college by allowing students to gradually integrate into college course work through a traditional high school degree plan plus dual enrollment. It is anticipated that the student body will be representative of the district’s demographic distribution with students from across Klein ISD .
Application Process - Vistas ECHS Applications open on February 1, 2024, for the 2024-2025 school year. Please contact your student's 8th grade school counselor to complete and submit the application form. For additional information in person, interested 8th graders and their parents are welcome to attend one of the Vistas Early College High School informational nights at Vistas High School (12550 Bammel North Houston, Houston, 77066) which will take place at the dates and times listed above.
Vistas Early College High School is looking for students who:
Are comfortable in smaller classes on a smaller campus
Reside in Klein ISD and meet the requirements to be promoted from 8th grade to 9th grade at the end of the 23-24 school year
Are willing to start their 9th grade year at Vistas ECHS and continue through all four years until completing both their high school requirements and up to 60 college hours
Might be the first in their family to attend college, including those who may be traditionally underrepresented in college admissions
Are looking for ways to attend college at no cost to them
Are willing to provide the energy and focus that it takes to work on their academics both in high school and college coursework
Are more interested in student-driven clubs and other activities than participating in school sponsored activities such as athletics, band, or cheerleading
Are willing to attend a two-week Summer Bridge Program in June 2024
